Our Story

The Official CWR was created out of necessity. Stacey Watrobski sprang to action in a unionization effort in August of 2020, which was subsequently dismantled due to the practice of union-busting. Stacey was then invited to train as an organizer with an international cannabis union, where she spoke to workers all over the country looking for help with how to make change in their cannabis workplace. After a few more tries working for licensed cannabis companies, she began working on something she wished her and her peers had from the start: resources. CWR is a culmination of years of boots-on-the-ground experience and passionate research, which lead to Stacey identifying some of the industry’s foundational flaws.

Stacey has been invited to speak on the cannabis industry along with its labor issues at events and educational panels all over Michigan and beyond. She has been awarded scholarships to essential educational events and conferences, and regularly appears as a guest on numerous podcasts. Stacey also spoke on the Michigan takeover panel at MJBizCon in Las Vegas, and will be on various panels in 2024 speaking on labor, health and safety awareness, future industry analysis and more!

Our Mission

Our mission is to unite both employees and employers in a collaborative spirit, all while overcoming the prevailing stigma around the cannabis industry. The Official Cannabis Workers Resource serves as a comprehensive education hub for cannabis workers and small-scale enterprises across North America. Including over a million employed citizens and tens of thousands of licensed businesses within its purview, the Official Cannabis Workers Resource strives to conquer these divisions. By fostering strong relationships between employees, businesses, and their local communities, we anticipate co-creating an industry that truly represents and benefits its PEOPLE.
