Ho ho holy shit – it’s already Thanksgiving, and Black Friday just passed with some solid deals on some of my favorite weed related products. Let’s be real: these deals start early, and with a little due diligence, you can generally find a similar kind of discount or perk somewhere on the interwebs throughout the holiday season. But what oh what to buy, exactly?!
If you’re looking for high-quality cannabis and healthier ways to enjoy it, you’re not alone! Many cannabis enthusiasts are exploring safer consumption options to protect their health while still enjoying their favorite products.
For example, vaping is popular for its convenience and subtle scent. However, growing concerns about contaminants, conversion oils, and harmful carriers like MCT oil are making some users think twice. And for us flower lovers, the impact of smoking on our lungs becomes harder to ignore as we age.
So, how can you medicate safely while keeping things discreet (or not)? That’s where Cannabis Workers Resource comes in! From reusable filters to handheld flower vaporizers, we’ve listed a bit of everything you need to make healthier choices and upgrade your sesh gear. 🌿
Arizer Vaporizers
I won an Air MAX ($170) from To The Cloud Vapor Store a couple years ago, and its my go-to when I’m seeking a super flavorful and gentle experience with my flower. Whenever I get a new strain, I go straight for the Air MAX. It will give you the full flavor of every compound without combustion, leaving you with unmatched flavor and therapeutic terpenes that just isn’t possible with traditional flame. This is for the flavor chasers!
Pulsar Devices
If you are looking to move away from vape cartridges, this is a great brand to get started that won’t leave you with buyers remorse. Pulsar is a widely available brand that offers affordable, well made and easy to operate devices. But that doesn’t mean they’re boring! I have an APX Volt 3 ($60), which has several additional coil and glass mouthpiece choices for a more customized experience, if you so choose. The Volt 3 is meant for concentrates, so if you are not familiar with concentrates check out our Guide to The Goo for tips on what to grab at the dispensary! They also make a dry herb vaporizers and other concentrate devices I have yet to try out.
Dr. Dabber
This classic brand has one of the most hard hitting rigs I’ve ever experienced. For the very advanced concentrate user, the Dr. Dabber Switch ($350) will put you on another planet and possibly help you get that project done you’ve been staring at for 6 months. For the user looking for discretion, the Dr. Dabber Ghost ($40) is a pocket dab pen that is ultra sleek and easy to use. They’ve also added a couple different sized devices to the family, including the XS ($150) and Switch2 ($420). Their devices are great if you don’t like the frills that come along with touch screens and apps: the Dr. Dabber devices are very simple and well calibrated with just a couple buttons, so you’re spending less time on learning how to turn it on, and more time enjoying your cannabis.
Hot Knife
Okay, there are several brands that make hot knifes. What is a hot knife, you ask? Its a pen-like device with a heating element that is used to cleanly load your dab devices with concentrate, like some of the ones listed above. There is nothing wrong with using a traditional metal tool, but for users who are more frequent and like to avoid constant clean-up, this is a god-send. They range from $25 – $45 dollars, like the Focus V Saber, the Yocan Blade and the Dr. Dabber Drop.
Moose Labs – MouthPeace
This is an absolute must for *any* flower smoker. I have been using a MouthPeace ($9.99) since @SpartanGrown introduced me to them in 2022, and won’t smoke from a bong without it. Hoping to get my hands on the MouthPeace Mini ($9.99) this holiday season, as I’ve become more of a joint smoker lately and am noticing the difference on my lungs without a filter. I tried to save money and bought a pack of 100 copy-cat filters from Amazon, and the difference is staggering. The filters did not work nearly as good as the Moose Labs brand, and I end up discarding them way quicker as well. I’d look for their sales, not sure there is a good dupe for any of these components yet!
Carbon Filters
For the flower smoker who won’t compromise their experience, a personal carbon filter will be your bestfriend for keeping things on the downlow! I used a Smoke Buddy that costs around $20 for sometime, and it did a good job at eliminating the smell when I was traveling. However the filter doesn’t last forever, and you cannot change the filter on the Smoke Buddy, so I have yet to spring for a new one. I’ve heard great things about the Sploofy Pro II ($25) as well, but unsure of the filters longevity, although they are completely replaceable unlike Smoke Buddy. For the real IAQ nerds, the TruCarbon 200C by Oransi ($250) is portable, sleek, and capable of eliminating smoke impurities without having direct contact with the device.
Dynavape
This is a classic and traditional way to consume both flower and concentrate without combustion *nor* electricity! That’s right, there’s no need to charge the trusty Dynavap, as you can use a simple torch lighter to heat the device without combusting your product. Their starter model is called ‘The B’ ($40) and is designed for first time users and the vaporizer-curious. They also make a battery powered induction heater called the ISPIRE Wand ($130), that makes using this device at home – or on the go – that much more convenient. The M Series ($60) is also concentrate capable by adding a DynaCoil for about $25.
Protip For Finding Deals:
Go directly to a brands website, and follow them on socials for exclusive discount codes. 3rd party resellers, like smoke and glass shops, generally have deal days and most major brands and items are included. If you’re in Michigan, Ohio or Indiana, check out Wild Bills Tobacco on Wednesdays for 50% off all glass. This was exceptionally helpful when I broke my Peak Pro glass; got that sweet discount and was able to replace it sooner rather than later!
There are still some fantastic Black Friday deals going on throughout Thanksgiving weekend for all of the brands listed above. Hope you found some gifts for you and your favorite stoners. Now is a great time to level up your smoke game!
Keep an eye out for Part 2, and make sure to follow us and all the brands listed on socials!
